Croatia has been nominated for the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards in the Most Desirable European Country category, while the Croatian islands have been shortlisted for Most Desirable European Region. Readers and travelers from around the world decide on the awards, presented for the 25th consecutive year, with over 200,000 voters expected to participate this time. Voting remains open until October 27, and votes for Croatia can be cast via the event's website. The winners will be announced on November 4 at the World Travel Market in London, the world's leading travel trade show.
Nominations for our country in prestigious British travel and gastronomy magazines represent significant recognition of Croatia's profile. It is increasingly capturing that market as a beautiful, easily accessible, safe, and hospitable destination offering a wealth of experiences, from natural beauty, history, and culture to excellent cuisine, said Bisera Fabrio, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board office in London.
Croatia was also shortlisted for the Food and Travel Reader Awards 2026 in the Destination of the Year - Short Trips category. The final results of the election will be announced at the awards ceremony on November 23 in London.
