Manuela thanked her family for their support during her studies and the Austrian Wine Academy for guiding her through a challenging yet wonderful educational journey, while also highlighting the friendships she formed along the way. Other Wine Academics from Croatia include Daniel Čečavac and Srđan Lisac. We congratulate our dear wine sister and partner on these wonderful achievements, and we also note that the next step is the title of Master of Wine: a distinction currently held by only one Croatian, Ivan Barbić.
Manuela Plohl is the first Croatian woman titled as Weinakademiker of the Austrian Wine Academy. Congratulations!

After years of dedication, study, tasting, research, travel, excitement, and yes, moments of disappointment, I am proud to share that I have achieved one of the highest honors in the wine world: becoming a Weinakademiker. This prestigious title goes beyond the DipWSET, which I also earned through the world-renowned Wine & Spirit Education Trust and which was a crucial step on my journey, proudly stated Manuela Plohl, our well-known sommelier and now a certified Wine Academic. Becoming part of the Weinakademiker community is a great honor, but it also provides renewed motivation to continue exploring, learning, and sharing knowledge within the fascinating world of wine, added the first woman from Croatia to earn this title from the Austrian Wine Academy (Weinakademie Österreich) in Rust, Burgenland
