All of Mladen Rožanić's wines were initially produced with several months of maceration. This is also an example of wines that are made for a long time and last for a long time

How much structure and layering a six-month maceration gives to a wine is beautifully demonstrated by the Malvasia Antica 2010 from the Roxanich winery. This style is not for everyone and requires a bit more experience and openness towards wines that deviate from the usual. Sixteen years after the harvest, this wine is amber-copper in color with a reddish sheen, appropriate to the production style. It has an intense and complex aroma of freshly sawn oak, cinnamon, grapefruit peel and dried fruit, with a hint of oxygenation.

In the taste, the skin of almonds and firm, but finely integrated tannins and lively acids, thanks to which the wine kept its freshness, stand out at first. The finish is long, pleasantly bitter and sour, which is characteristic of long macerated wines. And this one seems fresh, without a hint of tiredness. If you can still find a bottle somewhere, it is worth buying and tasting. Malvazija Antica 2010 was produced in the village of Kosinožići near Višnjan, where the owner Mladen Rožanić began his wine journey and filled the first bottles in 2005. Today it has a large winery, restaurant and hotel at the foot of Motovun.
